200 burpeesfor heart health.
As part of a heart-health fundraiser supporting the American Heart Association, I set out to do 1,000 burpees. I completed 908. The video below is a separate, continuous 200-burpee training session from the project.
01 / The public session
Watch the full 22-minute session.
One take, 200 repetitions, no cuts, filmed during training for the larger challenge.
The video uses the “Burpees King” variation, a prison-style rocking-chair burpee with additional movements close to the ground. I chose it because its rhythm and controlled transitions made it suitable for longer sets.
02 / Why heart health
Why this project mattered.
Heart health became personal to me through someone close to me. I saw how quickly a cardiovascular event can change everyday life, and why prevention, research, and support matter.
I built the project around burpees because they gave the fundraiser a clear, demanding, and measurable commitment. The fundraiser supported the American Heart Association and its work in research, prevention, education, and care.
About the American Heart Association03 / The result
I completed 908 of 1,000.
I did not reach the original target, so I kept the number as it was. Every donor received the full recording of my 908 burpees. The public video above is the separate 200-burpee training session.
